What is myUTSA ID and how will it be used? myUTSA ID is your new UTSA ID. It replaces your john.doe@utsarr.net ID with an ID that is a combination of three letters and three numbers (for example, "abc123"). You will use this ID to log in to the Student Computing Labs PCs, your new e-mail account, AirRowdy and PrintSmart.
All currently-enrolled UTSA students will be getting the new ID.
Who is getting a myUTSAmail account? All currently-enrolled UTSA students will be getting a new e-mail account to replace your Lonestar account. Your new e-mail address will include your new ID (for example, abc123@my.utsa.edu).
How is myUTSAmail different from my existing Lonestar account? myUTSAmail is powered by Google, and it functions just like a regular Gmail account. Plus, you’ll get access to the full range of Google apps, including a word processor, spreadsheet program, a calendar and an online chat function.
Will I be able to use the myUTSAmail address after I graduate? Yes, your e-mail address will remain active after you graduate.
What if I forget myUTSA ID – whom do I contact? Your myUTSA ID will be available through ASAP.
How will I know when myUTSA ID and e-mail address are changing? Your new myUTSA ID and myUTSAmail will be available on December 19 in your ASAP account. Just log in to pick up your ID. You will also receive an e-mail message in your Lonestar account before the change occurs, and the move will be publicized through other media.
I am not able to log in to myUTSAmail account? Here are several tips to help you:
Lonestar, and all of its existing messages, will be available until the end of Spring Semester, 2008.
Will my old Lonestar email be migrated to the new myUTSAmail account? No not automatically, however Lonestar email is being automatically forwarded to your new myUTSAmail account.
Does myUTSAmail support mail forwarding and will my old Lonestar forward be applied to the myUTSAmail account automatically? myUTSAmail supports mail forwarding, however it does not support the ability to automatically transfer your existing Lonestar mail forwarding rules, you will have to set this up yourself.
Please note: each student is responsible for the information sent to a non-UTSA account and for managing mailbox size to ensure that their account remains active. For forwards to a single address:

Tip: You can also forward only some of your mail by creating a filter! * Please ensure to test that your Email Forward has been set up and is functioning correctly by sending an email to your......@my.utsa.edu account. Check that the email arrives at your nominated email forward account.
While a standard Gmail account supports IMAP and POP email access, and the myUTSAmail account shows an "IMAP/POP" settings page, we are currently not supporting IMAP or POP with myUTSAmail accounts at this time. We hope to enable the IMAP/POP access in the near future.
My name on the new email address is mispelled/incorrect, or I recently got married/divorced, how can I change my name in myUTSAmail? Please log into your myUTSAmail account, select "Settings" in the upper right corner, and click the "Accounts" tab. Select "edit" for your account to change the display name for the account.
Does Google Apps provide a Help Center? All the Google assistance is available on line via their help center, there are many FAQ's and you can search their support databases. http://google.com/support/a/users/?hl=en.
What will happen to my website on Lonestar? Student, Faculty, Staff, and RSO websites will be migrated over to a new web server during the Spring 2008 semester. Current links to existing Lonestar web pages will be automatically redirected to the new web server, so anyone who follows a link to your web page will still be able to go to the existing URLs.
What assurance does the University provide about privacy when using myUTSAmail? The University has agreed to accept the standard Google terms and conditions which include reference to its privacy policy, you may review this policy at http://www.google.com/privacypolicy.html.
